The Gardeners
Hybrid & inclusive cultural venue
À propos
A hybrid cultural space, Les Jardiniers hosts contemporary art exhibitions, an eco-responsible canteen, and events open to all: workshops, conferences, salons, creative residencies, concerts... In the former workshops of Montrouge's municipal gardeners, this rehabilitated 600 m2 space sets up a cultural project in dialogue with reflections on environmental ecology and our contemporary social fabric. A multi-faceted living space, the gardeners see themselves as an open space, where you can come and go, stay, stroll, learn, work and meet. To open up the field of possibilities. Above all an exhibition space, Les Jardiniers follows the rhythm of the cultural seasons, discovering itself through other voices and other ways of looking at our world. In a spirit of conviviality, the Les Jardiniers canteen offers a daily catering/bar service that focuses on local, seasonal products from small-scale producers - for good eating that respects environmental and social conditions. In this movement of ideas, Les Jardiniers imagines an ecosystem of the commons: where new relationships are formed, where tools lend themselves to the game of experimentation. A fertile breeding ground, Les Jardiniers is an invitation to the collective construction of new narratives for better living together. In constant transformation, conceived as a hut, a refuge, this place will evolve and be invented by and for the uses of who we are and who we will become. Les Jardiniers is co-founded by artists Fabrice Hyber and Adrien van Melle-Nehama, curator Henri van Melle and artistic director Christophe Vix-Gras.
